Nursing Homes by State
Nationwide coverage of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories (53 jurisdictions in total) - compare nursing home quality, staffing, and penalties side by side. Download the matching national aggregates as CSV (same extract wired into this page's Dataset JSON-LD).
Coverage scope: every Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing facility reporting to the CMS Nursing Home Compare dataset (state operators of long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation beds). State totals reflect facility counts and weighted-average CMS Five-Star ratings as of the latest monthly refresh, not subjective rankings; see our methodology for refresh cadence and how each state average is computed.
